How
At Crosswalk we have invested heavily in technology to both accelerate the production of your prosthesis as well as allow us to duplicate your prosthesis repeatedly if needed. We are very proud of the Provel and Vorum equipment that we utilize in our clinic. The investment in digitizing equipment, CNC carver, prosthetic and orthotic specific CAD modeling equipment and socket thermoforming capabilities allow us to be one of the most state of the art clinics in Alabama. In the near future we are going to provide 3D printing and laser engraving possibilities to our patients as well. These are exciting times to be associated with Crosswalk Prosthetics!
This short clip below shows our Provel digitizer scanning a cast of a patient to be converted to a CAD model in our software. We also have multiple digitizers from Vorum, Sense Scanners and Structure as necessary. This step creates the scan that we utlize to generate a CAD model in our prosthetic specific CAD modification software.

Here on the left you see a rough CAD model after being transferred from the digitizer to our CAD software program. See how easily we apply the necessary modifications to make a unique socket designed just for your limb! Also, we can easily adjust the volume of the socket if we find that the socket design is too tight or too loose. Likewise, we can easily make modifications to the socket if there is an area of too much pressure or a spot that requires an additional relief. These changes are saved and your limb can be recreated identically should the need arise for a duplicate socket. There are infinite adjustments and infinite possiblities.

Our CNC carver is the latest model available from Provel. There is not a more up to date CNC carver service available in Alabama. Watch as the carver above creates a model of a patients limb from a solid blank of foam. Automating these processes allow much faster and repeatable results for prosthetic fittings. We don't have to wait for plaster to dry or molds to harden. We can rapidly create multiple, identical molds of your limb as needed to ensure an optimum fit.

This video on the left shows our Provel Thermoformer molding a temporary socket over a modified patient model. Using a temporary socket allows a patient to trial a socket for up to 2-3 weeks as necessary to ensure the fit is perfect. This longer trial period is much better for assessing the fit of prosthetic socket than the typical 30 minutes that occurs in normal prosthetic offices. We are proud to have developed this fitting method that has significantly improved the acceptance of the prosthetic sockets by our patients.

What we used to do in five visits, we can now do in two or less!
Nothing thrills us more than to have a patient use their new prosthesis without discomfort! To walk out of our office and
return to their productive
and unlimited life!
